Smokin in the Foothills: 1st Annual Lenoir BBQ contest and festival photos

Below are photos that I took at the 1st , "hopefully" Annual,  Smoking in the Foothills BBQ contest and festival.  Held in Lenoir, the bbq event was a two day festival and bbq contest starting Friday and ending late Saturday evening.  The photos below were all taken from approximately 11am to 2pm on Saturday and don't really capture the entirety of the event.  I hope if you didn't get to go that the photos below will entice you into going next year and if you did get to go;  that you'll enjoy seeing some familiar sights.

This was the beer corral.  Beer vendors were on sight offering up samples of their brew.

The food smelt great, looked great and I'm sure tasted great.

Piccolo's pizza mascot was out taking in the sights!

Fresh cut french fries!

Around noon, the crowd started to grow in size.  Estimates are that 12,000 people attended over the two day event.

Kicks 103.3 were showing out!

Love the glasses!  These two women posed without notice for a quick photo.

This lady had a nice sauce and really wonderful "eat in the shell peanuts".  So good....

This is my mother displaying her new walking stick she purchased.  She loved the stick and the festival.

The kids train made many many trips.

I've never had a pizza wave at me before!
